William C. "Bill" Brooks

William C. “Bill” Brooks, age 70, of Horse Cave, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. Bill was a native of Horse Cave and a member of the Horse Cave Church of Christ. He was a U.S. Army Veteran where he served as a Combat Medic and was a member of the D.A.V. Chapter #20 of Glasgow. 

He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Brooks and father, Walter Brooks; his step-mother, Jeannette Brooks; two brothers, Robert and Norman Brooks; a half-sister, Hilda Russell; two great-grandchildren, JonWeston Richardson and Graci Lynn Richardson.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Bacelisa “Bessie“ Brooks; his only son, Mark Brooks and his wife, Sara T.; two granddaughters, Samantha Richardson (Ryan) and Amanda Brooks; three great-grandchildren; four sisters, Carolyn Lizza, Merida Brooks, Rodona Nail, Rebeca Kapasukis; many nieces, nephews; two sisters-in-law, Laura Brooks and Linda Brooks.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 11, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Horse Cave Church of Christ under the direction of Winn Funeral Home, with burial to follow in the Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery along with full military honors provided by the DAV Chapter 20 of Glasgow. The funeral service and military honors will be live streamed on the Winn Funeral Home Facebook Page.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m.- 8p.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Winn Funeral Home and again on Friday Morning from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
