Walter K. Harper, 84, of Cave City, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2020 at the Medical Center at Bowling Green. He was a Hart County native and faithfully attended services at the Church In Canmer. He was also a retired Army Veteran having served three tours in Vietnam, a member of Green River Masonic Lodge #88, a ranger at Diamond Caverns, and an avid sportsman and golfer. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer K. Harper and May Goodhue Harper; one son, Walter Lewis Harper; four brothers, Dorsey, Wayne, Bobby, and Billy Harper; one sister, Rachel Harper.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Betty M. Harper of Cave City; one son, Kelly Wilson Harper of Paducah; two daughters, Deanna Stegmann (Michael) of Calvert City, Ky., and Kelley Ann Epling (J.R.) of Madison, WV; five grandchildren, Jessica Edwards, Whitney Harper, Haley Terry, Magen Minyard, and Jordan Minyard; one brother, Ralph Harper of Saratoga, WY.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM Wednesday, February 12, 2020 in the chapel of Winn Funeral Home with burial to follow in Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery with Military Honors.
Visitation at Winn Funeral Home will be on Tuesday, February 11th from 5 PM - 8 PM with Masonic services at 6 PM conducted by the Green River Masonic Lodge #88. Visitation will continue on Wednesday at Winn Funeral Home from 9 AM until service time.
