Sydney W. Bunnell

June 5, 1918 — January 17, 2014

Sydney W. Bunnell age 95 of Bowling Green and formerly of Hodgenville passed away Friday January 17, 2014 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green . He was a Hart County native, He was a member of the Larue County Church of Christ in Hodgenville and had been worshiping at Greenwood Park Church of Christ in Bowling Green where he reisded with his youngest daughter and her husband the last year of his life. He was a World War II Veteran of the U.S. Army and was retired from Armco Steel Corporation in Horse Cave . He was a farmer,, school bus driver, truck driver and traveling salesman but was best known for his love and restoration of antique Avery tractors and antique gas engines.

He was preceded in death by his parents , Carlos Bunnell and Myrrell Davis Bunnell, his wife of 72 years. Judelle Bunnell, his son-in-law, Billy Rippy, sisters, Artie Belle Bunnell, Mae Ola Rigg and a brother, Paul Bunnell. He was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, B. R. Reynolds, Jr.

He is survived by his children, Sydney M. Bunnell & his wife Sue of Cave City, James W. Bunnell & his wife JoNell of Decatur, Alabama, Judith Howell & her husband William Nelson of Cave City, David L. Bunnell & his wife Janice of Hardyville, Patricia Rippy of Russellville , and Marilyn King & her husband Ernie of Bowling Green. His brothers and sisters, Don Bunnell & his wife Anelle , Nelson Bunnell & his wife Margaret, Elizabeth Borders, Ruby Mires and Geneva Grady & her husband John Paul. A sister-in-law, Lou Reynolds and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Genie Hogan. 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday January 22, 2014 in the Chapel of Winn Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery. Visitation at Winn Funeral Home from 5 until 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
