Guestbook

Coach Petett  was like a second father to me he taught me that leadership is not easy but is always tough.  I love him and will miss my old football coach.  God is great and I thank him for Coach Petett and Coach Green.  See you soon Coach and I know you will be coaching the team when I get there.  Butler county is better because you were here.  Love you Coach.

Roy was our neighbor when I was growing up. I don't remember much about those days, just that Roy was always very polite. I do remember eating BBQ at his restaurant and enjoying the food and talking to Roy. He was always very nice to our family. We will miss him.

Many fond memories of Coach Pettet, his classes and being his P.E. Assistant. He was a character and I am proud to have had the opportunity to call him my friend. Prayers for all family and friends.

Bryan,
We feel the sorrow for your family at this time.
The great memories you have of your father will outweigh the short illness he suffered from.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Ms. Judy,
I played for Coach Petett at Butler County from 1971 - 1974 (better known as Mouse). He left the following year to go to Hart County, I believe.
On the field he was a mean old coot. He was strict, unforgiving and pushed us beyond ourselves. There were times you didn't want to go to the locker room at halftime or after the game. But, he molded our teams into exceeding and competing beyond what we should or would have without him.
Coach encouraged, enabled and helped me go to college on a scholarship without which I probably would have never been able to achieve. I am deeply saddened by the his loss but have and shall always remember Coach. My deepest sympathies to you all.
