Robert Marshall Chaney

Robert Marshall Chaney, age 59, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2015 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville surrounded by his loving family.

Robert was proud to have been born, and spent most of his life in Three Springs, Kentucky.  The past 12 years he had called Lebanon, Tennessee home where he created friendships that had become invaluable to him.  He was, most recently, a team member at Amazon in Lebanon.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa Peterson Chaney of Lebanon, Tennessee, his son, Stuart Chaney and his wife, Jennifer of Buffalo, Kentucky, two daughters, Lynnsey Dedmon and husband, Travis of Hermitage, Tennessee, Ashley Lile and husband, Matt of Center, Kentucky, his chosen daughter, Amanda Coomer Hood and husband, Allen of Glasgow, Kentucky, his sister, Emilia Sasser and husband, Earl of North Augusta, South Carolina, and his father-in-law, Pete Peterson of Hiseville, Kentucky.   Known to his granddaughters as "Huna", he is also survived by the greatest joys of his life, Addyson Ellis Chaney, Kenzie Blair Lile, Macy Rhea Lile and Camilla Dawn Dedmon.   Robert willingly and lovingly chose to be a grandfather to Martha Pittman, Billy Pittman, Haley Fisher and Kaleb Fisher.  Robert is also survived by nephews, Matt Chaney and Luke Chaney, both of Glasgow, Kentucky, Chad Sasser of Columbus, Georgia and Jason Sasser of Charlotte, North Carolina.

He was preceded in death by his father, T.F. Chaney, his mother, Emily Ogden Chaney and his brother, John Thomas Chaney.

Funeral service will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 8, 2015 in the chapel of Winn Funeral Home with burial in the Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery.  Visitation will begin 1:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.  Saturday, November 7, 2015 in the chapel of Winn Funeral Home and after 9:00 a.m. until service time on Sunday.

I called Robert "huggy bear" because he gave the best hugs in the world.  He could brighten any day and always made me laugh.  Heaven will be a more wonderful place because you are there.

Sure wish I was closer.  I'd love to come home to see you one last time.  Enjoy Heaven with John and your folks and hug your Mama for me.  You've been missed all of these years, and will continue to be missed friend.  Until we meet again.
