Robert P. "Bobby" Bennett, age 78, of Horse Cave passed away Saturday, October 31, 2015, at Caverna Memorial Hospital. Bobby was born in Barren County, KY, on December 4, 1936. He was a farmer, the owner and operator of Bennetts Upholstery located near the Wigwam, a retired school bus driver for the Hart County School System, and a member of the Rock Spring Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert F. Bennett and Martha Lois Hay Bennett, his wife, Brenda Bennett on March 25, 2004, and by two sisters, Jeanette Garmon and Alva Jo Grimes.
He is survived by three sons, Jerry Allen Bennett and his wife, Janet, of Hardyville, Robert P. "Chip" Bennett and his wife, Penny, of Park City and Douglas Freeman Bennett of Canmer, two daughters, Marshia Gregory of Horse Cave and Ruth Graves and her husband, Kenny, of Franklin, KY, twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, three sisters, Joyce Meredith of Horse Cave, Loyce Stuckey of Bowling Green and Dana Ruth Reagan and her husband, Billy, of Glasgow, one brother, Johnny Bennett and his wife, Beverly, of Hardyville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 5, 2015, at the Rock Spring Baptist Church in Barren County with burial to follow in the Atwell-Rock Cemetery in Metcalfe County under direction of the Winn Funeral Home of Horse Cave.
Visitation at Winn Funeral Home from 4 until 9 p.m. on Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Thursday at Rock Spring Baptist Church.
