Richard Louis Cunningham

Richard Louis Cunningham, 61, passed away in the evening hours of April 10th, 2023. Richard was born to the late John and Patsy Cunningham on March 4th, 1962 in Louisville, Kentucky. Richard retired from his life’s work as an electrician and foreman with IBEW Local 369 just a few short years ago.

Richard enjoyed time spent with loved ones, travel, cooking, and relaxing outside. He was an avid fan of the Louisville Cardinals and Minnesota Vikings. He enjoyed classic rock and had a special place in his heart for Grand Funk Railroad. He was a proud father and grandfather, living on in the precious memories his children and grandchildren hold dear.

Richard, who claimed not to be a people person, truly never met a stranger. He enjoyed meeting new people and never held back when sharing stories and experiences. He was one of a kind and always left a smile on everyone’s face.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his brother, Burt Cunningham.

Left to carry on his spirit; best-friend and love of his life, Donna Horton; son, Jacob Cunningham (Kristin); daughters, Gretchen Krammes (Kellen) and Macyn Horton; sister, Melissa Cunningham; brother, Jay Cunningham (Pam); uncle, Gene Conyers; grandchildren, Luke, Koen, and Aden Krammes; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

RIchard’s wishes were not to hold a service. In lieu of this, family will gather to celebrate his memory.
