Mitchell Handy

Coy Mitchell Handy age 73 of the Monroe Community passed away Wednesday August 6 , 2014 at T.J. Samson Community Hospital. He was a Hart County native, a retired farmer and a member of the Monroe Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Lorene Richardson Handy and his mother and father-in-law , Lawton and Vashti Phillips.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Brenda Phillips Handy of Monroe; one son, Kevin Handy and his wife Darla of Monroe; two daughters, Anissa Meredith and her husband Rodney of Hardyville;   Amy Lindsey and her husband Edwin of Monroe; one granddaughter, Jessica O'Banion of Hardyville; three grandsons, Justin Handy of Cave City, Jonathon Handy of Monroe and Ben Lindsey of Monroe; one brother, Keith "Buckeye" Handy of Greensburg; and a Host of other loving family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday August 9, 2014 in the Chapel of Winn Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Whickerville Cemetery.

Visitation at Winn Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday and from 9 a.m. until funeral time on Saturday.
