Mary Mildred Barton age 94 of Bethpage,Tennessee passed away Wednesday July 4, 2012 . She was born on September 23, 1917 in Hardyville ,Ky. to James William Meadows & Ida Forbis Meadows.She was a devoted wife and mother, and an excellent seamstress and cook. After raising her family, she learned to drive a car, received her nurses aid certificate, and for several years worked as a nurses aid at Gallatin Memorial Hospital where she made many life-long friends.After retiring from the hospital she was frequently asked to sit with the homebound, and she assisted a number of people in this situation over several years.She loved to care for others and they loved her. She was a long time active member of the Bethpage Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Willis Thurman Barton, her daughter, Janet Barton Hart, a brother, Maxwell Meadows and by two sisters, Evelyn Johnson and Bernice Goodman.

She is survived by her son, Tommy Barton of Bethpage,TN. , 2 daughters,Lois Liddle and her husband Bill of San Marcos, TX.,

and Lisa Lehman and her husband Lynn of Newark, OH., her son-in-law, Thomas Hart of Mount Juliet, TN., a sister, Thelma Redford of Horse Cave and a niece Margie Perkins of Horse Cave. Grandchildren, Chris Barton & wife Joanna, Zach Lehman & wife Kate, Benjamin Lehman,Melanie Liddle, Stephanie Burnett & husband Chip, Kim Ryder & Shanon Jenkins,Great grandchildren, Courtney Durham, Amber Durham, Joshua Jenkins, Jacob Jenkins, Haley Burnett & Sarah Burnett, a great-great grandson, Brandon Durham and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service

Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday July 7, 2012 at the Hiseville Cemetery under local direction of Winn Funeral Home , Horse Cave. Memorial Service Saturday July 21, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Family Heritage Funeral Home in Gallatin , TN.
