Michael Alan Cartmill, age 71 of Stanford, KY passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at Ft. Logan Hospital in Stanford. He was a native of Hart County and a life long farmer, Air Force Veteran, and truck driver; he was a graduate of Murray State University where he majored in history and minored in agriculture, as well as attended law school at the University of Kentucky. He loved talking to everyone about history and politics. He worked for some time at PCA in Bowling Green. He’ll be remembered for his stories and being there when he was needed. He was a doting loving father and grandfather. “Let’s Go Brandon”
He is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Cartmill and Frances Goad Cartmill; his brother, former Sheriff and Jailer, Bill Cartmill.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jean Cartmill of Stanford; two daughters, Karmin Cartmill Davis and Kala Cartmill; one son, Phillip Cartmill; two step-children, Rick Fisher (Patachia) and Melissa Khawaja; three siblings, Paul David Cartmill (Vivian), Carolyn Myatt (Bob) and Charles Cartmill (Sharon); one sister-in-law, Sandra J. Cartmill; eight grandchildren, Jackson and Mason Davis, Colby Alexander and Toby Alexander, Taylor Baker and Tarren Fisher, Tatiana and Katia Khawaja; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Satuday, November 13, 2021 in the chapel of Winn Funeral Home with burial to follow in Crump Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the DAV Chapter #20 from Glasgow, KY.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, November 12, 2021 at Winn Funeral Home and again on Saturday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.
