Mary Elizabeth Proffitt

Mary Elizabeth Proffitt, 93, of Cave City, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow.

She was a native of Bloomfield, Ky., a longtime member and Sunday School teacher of the Cave City Church of Christ, the former owner with her late husband, Roger, of the the Wigwam Village #2 in Cave City, a wonderful mother and homemaker.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, Colman Drake and Cordie Green Drake; brothers, George, Zack and Clayton Drake; sisters, Minnie Proffitt, Ruth Harned and Martha Compton.

Survivors include her children, Judith Ann Jackson (Michael), of Philadelphia, Pa., Roger M. Proffitt (Ann), of North Carolina, Virgil Lee Proffitt (Helen), of Lexington and James Owen Proffitt (Dianna), of Cave City; grandchildren, Michelle Jackson, Megan Jackson-Koger, (Sean), James L. Proffitt, Jason Proffitt, Jennifer Alford (Karson), Amanda Guerra (Cesar), Tori Dowell (Kent), Norma K. Proffitt, Ami Proffitt and Lucas Proffitt; great-grandchildren, Laura Alford, Ella Alford, Carter Dowell, Walker Dowell, Greyson Hamad and Zoey Guerra; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted in the chapel of Winn Funeral Home on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 1PM, with burial to follow in the Cave City Cemetery.

Visitation at Winn Funeral Home will be on Friday from 11AM - 8PM, and after 9AM until service time on Saturday.
