Mary L. Gaines

April 1, 1926 — January 7, 2015

Mary L. Gaines, age 88, of Cave City, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at Hart County Health Care Center.  She was a native of Oxford, Alabama, a homemaker, retired nurse, and member of the Horse Cave Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Lee & Ebie Champion Hewett, her husband, James Thomas Gaines, a daughter, Vickie Gaines Headrick and a son, Robert Gaines.

She is survived by three daughters, Jane Bennett Hurt and husband, Jimmy, of Scottsville, Ann Pillard and husband, John, of Wauchula, FL, Louise Wesley and husband, Martin, Chancellor, AL; four sons, Richard Gaines and wife, Gail, of Oxford, AL, Phillip Gaines and wife, Joyce, of Jacksonville, AL, Douglas Gaines and wife, Dianne, of Clarksville, TN, Dennis Gaines and wife, Earlene, of Louisville; a wonderful number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Winn Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery.  Visitation at Winn Funeral Home from 3-8 p.m. on Saturday and from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Sunday.
