Kathleen Bryant Atwell, age 89, of Whickerville, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2015 At her home. She retired from Union Underwear and was a foster grandparent in the school system for 18 years. She was a member of Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church and attended Ladies Chapel United Methodist Church. She enjoyed working with children and doing yard and garden work.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Poynter and Adeline Powell Bryant; her husband, Seaymon Atwell; brothers, Dolan, Frank and Howard Bryant; sister, Norma Bryant.
She is survived by one son, Cleburne Atwell and wife, Carol, of Alpharetta, Georgia; one daughter, Beatrice Lindsey and husband, Larry, of Hardyville; two grandsons, Dewayne Lindsey and wife, Micki, Edwin Lindsey and wife, Amy, all of Hardyville; two granddaughters, Stephanie Aratea and husband, Rey, of Woodstock, Georgia, Stacey Atwell, of Linwood; two step-grandsons, Todd Glass and wife, Robin, of Leesburg, Georgia, Jeff Glass and wife, Leah, of Tallahassee, Florida; four great-grandchildren, Olivia and Raedyn Aratea, Mattye and Ben Lindsey; four step-great-grandchildren, Wimberly, Carson, Madison and Harper Glass; a special "grand-dog", Caty; two sisters, a twin, Silovine Reynolds, of Louisville, Lula Spalding and husband, Joseph, of Cave City; a brother-in-law, Ozzie Atwell and wife, Bobbie, of Cave City; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11AM Monday, March 9, 2015 in the Winn Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Whickerville Cemetery. Visitation at Winn Funeral Home will be on Sunday, March 8, 2015 from 2-8PM and after 8AM Monday, until service time.
