Jimmy Chaney, age 90, Horse Cave, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2016, at The Medical Center at Caverna E.R. He was a native of Hart County, a lifetime prominate farmer in Hart and Barren County, a floor supervisor for the former Moss Tobacco Company, and a buyer on the South Carolina Tobacco Market. He was a U.S. Naval Air Cadet in World War II and one of the oldest members of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Uno and attended the Horse Cave Baptist Church in his later years.
He was preceded in death by parents, Trigg T. and Betty Coleman Patteson Chaney, his son, Larry Chaney in 1998, two sisters, Margie Chaney Whittington and Dorothy Chaney Goodman, and one brother, Joe A. Chaney.
He is survived by one sister, Mildrene Chaney Thomasson, Alexandria, VA, and nine nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 29, 2016 at Winn Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Horse Cave Cemetery. Visitation at Winn Funeral Home from 1-2 p.m. on Sunday.
