Jerry W. Melloan

Jerry W. Melloan, age 70, of Munfordville, passed away Friday, May 1, 2015, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. He was born in Horse Cave, KY, and a graduate of Munfordville High School.  He furthered his education at Western Kentucky University obtaining his Masters in Education.  Jerry was a proud member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church at Uno and a retired school teacher in the Hart County School System.  He began his teaching career at Northtown School until its closing and finished his career at Memorial Elementary. He was a beloved father, brother, uncle, friend and educator. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Birdie Norman Melloan, and by one brother, Dale Melloan.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Paulett Bush Melloan, of Munfordville,  one son, Steve Allen Melloan, also of Munfordville, one sister, Maxine Reynolds of Horse Cave, two brothers, Kenneth Melloan and his wife, Linda, of Horse Cave, and Danny Melloan and his wife, Marilyn, of Edmonton. Several nieces, and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 4, 2015, in the Chapel of Winn Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery.

Visitation at Winn Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m.on Sunday and from 9 a.m. until service time on Monday.

Jerry was always very kind and wonderful to me and I will never forget him. My prayers are with his family, I will be thinking of you during this time.
