Jay Tweedy

December 16, 1936 — March 11, 2015

Jay Tweedy, age 78, of Hardyville, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.  He was a native of Cumberland County and a retired farmer.  He loved hunting & fishing and had a love for farming and his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Garland and Ruby Dickerson Tweedy, his wife, Margaret Atwell Tweedy, four brothers, Delmer, James, Garland Tweedy, Jr. and Billy Tweedy, two sisters, Helen Merle & Letha Fulkerson and a step son, Wayne Meadows.

He is survived by one step-daughter, Martha Hiser and husband, Ira, of Monroe, one step-son, Roger Meadows of Grab, thirteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, one sister, Sherlin Craddock, of Priceville, two brothers, Earl Tweedy, of Navarre, FL, Bernard Tweedy, of Louisville and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Sat., March 14, 2015, at Winn Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Cosby Cemetery.  Visitation at Winn Funeral Home from 2-8 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. on Saturday until time of service.
