James Porter Smith

James Porter Smith age 87 of Louisville passed away Sunday, June 16, 2019 at the Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville Indiana. He was a member of the U.S. Navy and a Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He graduated from Horse Cave High School in 1950 and retired from Ford Motor Company in Louisville.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Annie Kate Smith and 9 siblings.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Katie Marie Smith; two daughters, Rebecca Smith Moore (Steve) and Brenda Smith Lunn (Michael); one son, Jay Smith (Cathy); five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a brother, Marvin Ray Smith.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Winn Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the DAV, Chapter 20 of Glasgow. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. Thursday, June 20 until time of service at 2 p.m.
