James Virgil Martin

November 30, 1928 — October 20, 2010

J.V. Martin age 81 of Horse Cave passed away 5:02 a.m. Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at the Medical Center of Bowling Green.

Mr. Martin was born in Cowan, Tennessee, retired truck driver, drove 20 years for James Winn Trucking transporting the U.S. Mail, 15 years for Smith Transfer, 6 years driving a bus for Mammoth Cave National Park, ran a water delivery service for several years, member of the Teamsters Union Local 89, 25 year member of Bearwallow Masonic Lodge #231 and a member of Cave Springs Baptist Church.

Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Lassie Connor Martin, daughter, Germaine Owen, sister Juanita Bishop and 3 grandchildren.

wife of 59 years: Norma Jean Adwell Martin of Horse Cave

2 sons: Perry Martin and wife Shannon of Horse Cave

Kevin Martin and wife Missy of Horse Cave

3 daughters: Veronica Hughes and husband Eddie of Murfreesboro

Nell Wathen Jaggers and husband Billy of Horse Cave

Kennetha Sanders and husband Bobby of Cave City

12 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren

1 brother: Pepper Martin and wife Louise of Munfordville

4 sisters: Mabel Collins of Horse Cave

Elizabeth Wilson of Horse Cave

Josephine Edwards of Horse Cave

Lucille Carver of Jeffersonville, Indiana

Visitation

Visitation 11:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. Friday and after 9:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Masonic Rites will be conducted 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Funeral Service

Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 23, 2010 in the chapel of Winn Funeral Home with burial in the Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery.
