Hafford "Hal" L. Garland

Hafford "Hal" L. Garland, age 80, Horse Cave, passed away Wednesaday, March 22, 2023 at The Medical Ceneter at Bowling Green. He was a native of Kentucky and a member of Mt. Vernon Church Of Christ, where he was an Elder until his health forced him to step down. He retired from the National Park Service after 31 years. He was a loving husband and father who loved spending time with his family. He was a friend to many.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Loretta Garland; his parents, Paul and Ellie Garland; one granddaughter, Lacey Taylor; one brother, Ray Garland; one sister, Ruth Griffith.

He is survived by his wife, Anita Garland; his son, Erik Garland (Hidey); his daughter, Sonja Taylor (Jeff Byrum); three step-children, Craig Hampton (Tammy), Eric Hampton (Sarah), and Susan Shirley (Stephen); several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Myra Thompson; his special friend, Rick Taylor.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Winn Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM on Friday, March 25, 2023 at Winn Funeral Home and from 8 AM until time of service on Saturday.
