Elmer Dean Short

August 8, 1926 — March 29, 2013

Elmer Dean Short age 86 of Horse Cave passed away Friday March 29, 2013 at his home. He was a Hart County native, a long time member and Deacon of Horse Cave Baptist Church where he also served as the former Music Director and a member of the church Choir. He was a retired employee of the Armco Steel Corporation and a United States Army Air Corp Veteran of World War II.

He was also a long time member of the Cavelander's Quartet.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmore Short and Mary Larimore Short, his wife, Viola Katherine Harlow Short on February 8, 2013, a sister, Mayola Short Gentry and by four brothers, William Arthur Short, Bert Short, James Short and Chester C. Short.

Survived by

Elmer Dean is survived by his daughter, Kathy Lawson of Versailles, KY.

His Grandson, Randy Logsdon & his wife Amber of Horse Cave.

His three Great-Grandchildren, Sierra , Shelby and Serenna Logsdon. Also by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation

Visitation at Winn Funeral Home from 5 until 8 p.m. Saturday and after 9 a.m. on Monday. There will be no visitation on Sunday.

Funeral Service

Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel of Winn Funeral Home on Monday April 1, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with burial to follow in the Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery.Military Honors will be conducted at the gravesite by DAV Chapter # 20 of Glasgow.
