Ellis Carnahan, age 72 of Brownsville passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. He was a native of Ohio and the Owner Operator of Carnahan Trucking. He was a member of Bearwallow/Cave City Masonic Lodge #231 where he was a past Master. He loved to play golf and old cars.
He is preceded in death by his parents, L.R. “Buck” Carnahan and Sarah Sisco Carnahan; his grandparents who raised him, Fate and Harriet Carnahan; his grandson, Joshua Allen Bailey; his brothers, Roy, Harold, and Roger Carnahan; one sister, Louis Settles.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila Carnahan; nine children, Teresa Carnahan, Terri Bailey, Shawn Matthews, Daphne Crabtree, Cheryl Carnahan, Joshua Bailey, Bo Carnahan, Ellissa Matthews and Destiny Poynter; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; one sister, Barbara England; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held at the Bearwallow/Cave City Masonic Lodge #231 at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2020. Visitation will be held at the Lodge from 11 a.m.-8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 4, 2020 and from 9:00 a.m. until time of service on Saturday. A Masonic service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday night. Winn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
