As a kid growing up in Indiana, I knew that anytime Dad said, "We're going to Hart County", it meant we would definitely be stopping by Dale and Elaine's. Though our visits were few and far between, we were always welcomed with open arms. They both were such genuinely wonderful people -- kind and generous without hesitation.
There are always regrets of one sort or another at a time like this. One of my regrets is that as I grew older, time and distance brought those trips to Hart County to an end for me.
Barbara and Kenneth -- my thoughts are with you and your families. I am so sorry for what I know is your very great loss. There is strength and joy in sorrow.
"Any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind; and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee." -- John Donne, 1624
