Donald Grubbs, age 78, of Bowling Green, passed away, after a courageous fight, on Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Commonwealth Regional Specialty Hospital in Bowling Green.
He was a native of Hart County, a member of the Oakland Baptist Church, a retired truck driver, and a former insurance agent. He enjoyed telling stories, playing his piano, making sourdough bread, fishing, boating, an avid U.K. Basketball fan, a member of the Bowling Green Masonic Lodge #73, and he loved his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Amos Grubbs and Ruby Lucille Sexton Grubbs, a son, Arlene Grubbs, and a sister, Rita Humphrey.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Grubbs, Bowling Green, two daughters, Donetta Taylor and Pauletta Borew, both of Horse Cave, two step-daughters, Amy Shutt and husband, Guy, Evansville, IN, Erika Watt and husband, Alan, LaGrange, KY, daughter-in-law, Demetra Grubbs Clark and husband, Mark, Horse Cave, nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one sister, Doris Adams and husband, Billie, Elizabethtown, KY, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 3, at Winn Funeral Home, with burial to follow in the Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery. Visitation at 12 noon until 8 p.m. on Wednesday and from 8 a.m. until time of service on Thursday. A public Masonic service will be held on Wednesday evening at 7 p.m.
