Clay Jewell, age 52, of Canmer, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2016, near Canmer. He was a native of Hart County, a lifetime logger, farmer, mechanic, welder, and carpenter. He was baptized at the Church in Canmer.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Landis and Gladys Hensley; paternal grandparents, William Spurgeon and Bernerdean Jewell; two sisters, Wanda Jewell and Janet Kerr; three nieces, Shauna Hall, Kathleen Kerr and Shelby Jones; one nephew, Kenny Kerr; and one brother-in-law, Ken Kerr.
He is survived by his parents, David and Mattie Jewell; three sisters, Vicki (Ricky) Neal, Hardyville, Joyce (Tim) McCandless, Canmer, Sandy Jorgenson, Leitchfield; one nephew, Dalton (Mindy) Jones; three nieces, Kristie Coomer, Angela (Mark) Bunnell, Caitlin (Spencer) Lattinette; and a special friend, Dorothy Overby of Jamestown, KY.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 22, 2016, at Winn Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Conyers Cemetery.
Visitation at Winn Funeral Home from 4 until 8 p.m. on Thursday and from 9 a.m. until service time at 11 on Friday.
