Cindy Michelle O'Malley
Cindy Michelle (Church) O'Malley, age 52, entered into rest April 14, 2015 at the UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania while undergoing surgery to replace her defibrillator/pacemaker and extraction of the wire leads into the heart.
Cindy was born February 11, 1963 in Fresno, California but "home" for the last 39 years has been the rural farm-place near Cave City, Kentucky.
She is survived by her husband of 30 plus years, Anthony D. (Tony) O'Malley; son, Timothy M. (Tim); daughter, Megan M. (Meg) and grandson, Mason Chartrand O'Malley; step-daughter, Holly (O'Malley) Winders of Vinton, Iowa; and step-grandchildren, Treighton, Tatum and Brady.
Cindy was the daughter of C.D. and Helen M. Church, who survive; and brothers, Steven M. (Mike) of Tiverton, Rhode Island; Randall K. (Randy) and Mary Ann of North Kingstown, Rhode Island; Perry D. (Pedro) and Maria E. of Georgetown, Kentucky; and Russell D. (Rusty) of Bowling Green, Kentucky; nephews, Christopher D. (Chris) and Angie S.; Kevin M. (Kev); Nathaniel D. (Nathan); Matthew T. (Matt); and niece, Kathryn M. (Katy). Her uncles, aunts, cousins, etc., listed by name would be many.
She was the instigator, inspirator and can-do member of the extended CHURCH Family.
Cindy was a 1981 graduate of Caverna High School. She was also a graduate of Western Kentucky University School of Nursing with certification as a Registered Nurse. She served our country in the U.S. Army with deployments to Hawaii, South Korea and Germany and was medically retired as a Lieutenant from the U.S. Army Nurse Corps.
The Celebration of Life will be conducted at 6:45 PM, Tuesday, April 21, 2015 in the Chapel of Winn Funeral Home, 210 Maple Ave., Horse Cave, Kentucky. Visitation at the funeral home will be from 4PM until 8PM on Monday, April 20, 2015 and from 9AM until service on Tuesday, April 21st.
Cindy chose to be cremated after the funeral home services. A family interment/memorial at the Evergreen Cemetery, Park City, Kentucky may be held at a later date.
Should you wish contribution in her memory; a shelter that ensures the finding of homes for unwanted animals would be her choice.
Please accept my condolence and my gratitude for her service as an Army Nurse
