Charles E. "Buck" Groce
Charles E. “Buck” Groce, age 69, of Horse Cave passed away Sunday, October 18, 2020 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. He was a native of Hart County and retired from Green River Valley Water District. He was a marine veteran of nine years, also serving one tour in Vietnam. He loved bluegrass music and he was a father figure to so many.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Donna “Jody” Groce; his parents, Kaleb Groce and Virginia Logsdon Groce
He is survived by two children, Greg Groce (Tammy) of Horse Cave and Christy Childress (Damon) of Horse Cave; five grandchildren, Cassaundra Meadows (Nathan), Richard Groce, Christian Groce (Rebeckah), Zacheriah Groce, Samuel Groce; three great-grandchildren, Mason Meadows, Corrinthia Meadows, and Dakota Groce; two brothers, Caleb Groce and James Groce; one sister, Juanita Haire; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at Winn Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Winn Funeral Home from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20 and from 9 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday.
