Carlos Jay Coffey, age 74, of Summersville, Kentucky, passed away Monday, February 16, 2015, at Jane Todd Crawford Hospital. He grew up in Hart County and lived for several years in Illinois and in Louisville before moving to Green County. He was a retired diesel mechanic, loved gardening and working in his yard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Coffey and Helen McKinney Coffey, two sisters, Brenda Robertson & Shirley Bryant, two brothers, Leo & Lincoln Coffey.
He was survived by his wife, Lorene Jaggers Coffey, Summersville, one daughter, Linda Gibson and husband, Tim, of Cave City, two sons, C. J. (Carl) Coffey and wife, Loretta, Greensburg, and Darrell Coffey and wife, Lura, Glasgow, six grandchildren, Scott Gibson, Ryan Gibson, Kellie Ballard, Ashley Coffey, Kyle Coffey and Carla McClister, one sister, Genevieve Nunn of Glasgow, two brothers, William (Fats) Coffey and wife, Correll, Greensburg, & Roger Coffey, Glasgow, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Winn Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Cave City Cemetery. Visitation at Winn Funeral Home from 12 noon until 8 p.m. on Friday and from 9 a.m. until service time on Saturday.
