Buford Glendon Pierce, age 94, of Horse Cave, passed away Friday, May 12, 2017 at T.J. Samson Community Hospital. He was a native of Hart County and the oldest member of Horse Cave Baptist Church. He was the owner-operator of Pierce Garage in Horse Cave, a life long farmer, and a U.S. Air Force Veteran where he served as a gunner and radio operator during combat in WW II.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Judge Floyd E. Pierce and Zelpha Clark Pierce; his wife, Jean Washam Pierce, on March 29, 2015; two sisters, Betty Neville and Bernice Thomas.
He is survived by his daughter, Glenda Troxall and husband, Keith of Horse Cave; two grandchildren, J.D. Minor, of Antioch, TN, and Chris Minor' of Bowling Green; two step-grandchildren, Kim Troxall, of Lexington, and Kevin Troxall, of California; two great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 in the chapel of Winn Funeral Home with burial to follow in Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery with full Military Honors by the Glasgow DAV Chapter # 20.
Visitation at Winn Funeral Home from 4:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, May 15, 2017, and on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, from 9:00 a.m., until time of service.
