Betty Jean Karnes

Betty Jean Karnes, age 70, of Cave City, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016, in the comfort of her home with her loving family surrounding her.  She was a native of Barren County, a retired seamstress from Louisville Bedding, a homemaker, and a member of Green Meadows Baptist Church.  She loved flowers, tending her fish garden, cooking and loved her family with a passion.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Jewell Hatcher & Virgie Irene Brooks Hatcher, two sisters, Linda Gail Isbel & Billie Carolyn Blakely, a great-grandson, Camden Allen-Paul Miller, and a brother, Samuel D. Hatcher.

She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Donald Karnes, of Cave City, son Jamie Karnes and his wife, Sandy, of Cave City, daughter, Melissa Butler and her husband, Jap, Cave City, seven grandchildren, Josh McGavic, Brittany Turner and husband, Griffin, Jeremiah Butler, Chasity Miller and husband, Ernie, Kelsey Saltsman, Alexis Yates and husband, Wesley, & Jayden Karnes, a sister, Frances Foley of Louisville, seven great-grandchildren, Savannah McGavic, Trent, Layne & Livi Turner, Evelyn Yates, Addie & Tenley Wheeler and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2016, in the Chapel of Winn Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Cave City Cemetery.  Visitation at Winn Funeral Home from 12-9 p.m. on Friday and on Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of service.
