Barbara Joyce Scott

Barbara Joyce Scott, age 79, of Owensboro,(formerly of Hart County) passed away Thursday, October 17, 2013 at her home.

She was born in Hart County, Ky., a member and Sunday School Teacher at Owensboro Church of Christ, enjoyed reading, family vacations and babysitting her great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her parents, Ivan H. and Lovie Davidson Gill; her husband, Rev. Kenneth Scott; two sisters, Lottie Tapp and Gertrude Edwards; one brother, Earl C. Gill; one half-sister, Eva Vance and one half-brother, Gerthie Gill; one great-grandchild, Nathan Allen Burris, Jr.

Survivors include: two daughters, LaDonna Sikes and her husband, Robert and Gail Scott all of Owensboro; five grandchildren, Contessa Bishop, Heather Axley, Nathan Burris, Casey Sikes and Brooke Sikes; nine great-grandchildren, Davie Fulks-Bishop, Hannah Axley, Gracie Bishop, Tanner Axley, Emily Sikes, Crue Burris, Kelsey Sikes, Kane Galloway and X'avian Galloway.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, October 21, 2013 in the chapel of Winn Funeral Home with burial to follow in Rock Cemetery in Metcalfe County.

Visitation at Winn Funeral Home Monday, 10AM until service time.
