Alice Hensley Perkins

January 13, 1911 — July 2, 2011

Alice Hensley Perkins, 100, formerly of Stephensburg, Ky., died Saturday, July 2, 2011 at Kensington Nursing Home in Elizabethtown with her daughter, Myra; grandaughter, Lanissa and great-grandson, Tyler, at her bedside.

She was a Hart County native, housewife and a member of Stephensburg Methodist Church. Mrs. Perkins loved and cherished her family, a kind and devoted wife and mother, and was remembered for starting several women's organizations as a minister's wife. She is also remembered for her delicious cooking, hospitality and most of all her daily Christian example.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Noah L. Hensley and Hettie Conyers Hensley; her husband, Rev. F.J. Perkins; a son, Bobby Perkins; a daughter, Martha Perkins; a grandson, Timmy Perkins; 6 sisters and 2 brothers.

Survived by

Son: Dalton Perkins and wife Margaret, of Charlestown, In.

Daughter: Myra Powell and husband, Hayward, of Elizabethtown

Daughter-In-Law: Patsy Perkins

Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren and Great-Great-Grandchildren

Brother: Everett Hensley, Monroe

Nieces and Nephews

Winn Funeral Home Chapel, Wednesday, July 6, from 2PM - 9PM and after 9AM, Thursday. (C.D.T.)

Funeral Service

Winn Funeral Home Chapel, Thursday, July 7, 2011 at 2:30 PM (C.D.T.), with burial to follow in Cosby Cemetery.
