Daniel Ray Branstetter, age 90, of Horse Cave, passed away Monday, June 28, 2021 at his home. He was a native of Hart County and a member at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and treasurer for many years. He was a life-long farmer and served on the board of directors for the Green River Valley Water Company for 40 years. He was also the director for the Burley Tobacco Growers co-op. He was a charter member of the Caveland Country Club. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Lenora Branstetter; four sisters, Mary A. Branstetter, Alma Martin, Pauline Reynolds, and Lillian Stice; two brothers, James and Johnny Branstetter.
He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Wilma Wright Branstetter; his son, Douglas Branstetter (Pam); his daughter, Alicia Smith (Rodney); four grandchildren, Greg Branstetter (Cindy), Amanda Warren (Jeremy), Jeremy Smith (Ashley), and Dan Smith (Becca); seven great-grandchildren, Chandler and Graham Branstetter, Matthew Branstetter Middleton, Gracie Branstetter Pike, Larkin, Claire, and Sawyer Smith; one sister, Mildred Dalton.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 1, 2021, at the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church with burial to follow at the Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery, under the direction of Winn Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 30, at the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and from 8 a.m., Thursday until service time.
